The tempura, in particular, receives consistent praise for its light and crispy texture, making it a must-try. Many guests highlight the excellent quality of the 5-course tasting menu, providing an array of flavors and creative presentations at a reasonable price. Some diners mention that the restaurant's small size can lead to a wait during busy hours, stressing the importance of making reservations. A few reviews note that the limited seating means that the ambience can feel crowded at peak times, which may take away from the otherwise cozy experience. Additionally, while the prices fall within a reasonable range for the quality provided, some might find it slightly higher than typical fast-casual dining options. However, many agree that the unique flavors and quality make any additional cost well worth it. Lastly, there are mentions of specific dishes being unavailable on occasion, likely due to the focus on fresh, quality ingredients.
Wow, what an amazing experience. The food was out of this world and the service was amazing. It is small so book in advance and do message you order so they can make sure it’s super fresh. Highly recommend
This restaurant is a total gem. I took my notoriously fussy 85 year old Japanese mother who refuses to go to most Japanese restaurants in the UK as she's always disappointed/horrified. But no complaints here, ingredients were excellent quality and the flavours sublime. Definitely will be returning. It's only got about 3 tables so book before you go. You won't be disappointed.
We had wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. We both ordered the 5-course tasting menu. Tsubaki for me and the vegetarian option Aoi for my wife. Both great and good value. Will be back again!
A hidden gem! We enjoyed our Friday date night here, the food was lovely and you could tell that a lot of thought was put into the menu. Ingredients were fresh and high quality, flavours were unique and unlike what we have experienced before in the UK. Portions were generous. Cosy atmosphere and highly recommended. Would definitely be back again soon!
Cosy, family ran restaurant with amazingly fresh and tasty food at reasonable prices. Absolutely faultless and definitely worth a visit.
